Coverage details

Covers two modeled approaches from Truckee to Homewood — some nearby roads aren't monitored. See what's included.

This status covers two known Homewood Mountain Resort paths: SR-89 from the Placer / Nevada county line south through Tahoe City and onward to the resort access at Placer postmile 2.19, and SR-267 from I-80 through Kings Beach followed by SR-28 to Tahoe City and the same SR-89 connector to Homewood.

Winter seasonal-closure behavior on this SR-89 span will be verified against the first live closure record. Emerald Bay, every SR-89 span south of the Homewood terminal, resort entrances, parking access, and local circulation are outside this verdict and must be verified separately.

Conditions can change quickly in the mountains. This page never replaces chain requirements, closures, or official Caltrans guidance. This boundary supports no claim about Emerald Bay, SR-89 south of Homewood, resort entrances, parking access, or local circulation. Neither surface makes a safe-to-drive or all-clear claim.
